Ketsana at Vietnam, 23 Dead

HANOI, Vietnam – Typhoon Ketsana roared into central Vietnam on Tuesday, killing at least 23 people as it brought flooding and winds of up to 90 mph (144 kph), disaster officials said. Some 170,000 were evacuated from its path.

Ketsana left more than 200 dead across the northern Philippines as a weaker tropical storm.

After gathering strength over the South China Sea, the typhoon made landfall in midafternoon, about 37 miles (60 kilometers) south of Danang, according to the National Weather Center.

Two people in Quang Nam province were killed by falling trees, and another died when struck by a power line, said Nguyen Minh Tuan, a provincial disaster official.

"The rivers are rising and many homes are flooded, and several mountainous districts have been isolated by mudslides," Tuan said.

Quang Nam is the home of the ancient city of Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Another three died in Thua Thien Hue province, disaster official Le Minh said. A man was killed by a falling tree, a woman died in floodwaters and a 3-year-old drowned in a flooded home.

As the storm moved inland towards Laos, nine people died in Kon Tum province in the Central Highlands, including a family of five whose house was buried in a mudslide, disaster official Nguyen Van Vy said.

Deaths were also reported in Danang and the province of Binh Dinh and Quang Ngai.

Authorities evacuated 170,000 people from six central provinces as the typhoon approached and heavy winds began lashing Vietnam's central coast in the morning, officials said.

Rains and heavy winds began lashing the Vietnam coast Tuesday morning, knocking out electricity in some places.

"There's a blackout across our entire province," said Truong Ngoc Nhi, vice governor of Quang Ngai province, south of Danang. "Many streets are strewn with fallen trees and utility poles. It looks like a battlefield."

Vietnam Airlines canceled all flights to the tourist destinations of Danang and Hue.

:(

Dear God,

At first I thought of how lucky I am that my house is located on a high area. As in, unaffected by flood. The only problem I had today was finding a way to evade the flood blocking our main road as you can see in the pictures. It wasn't a problem because there was an alternative road. It's really deep, approximately 5 feet. I don't know why there's a truck in the middle though. Maybe the driver thought the flood's shallow for the truck.. But hell. A TRUCK stuck in flood is wow for me. I've never seen something like that before.

But then my Mom's friend texted.. saying that THEIR WHOLE FIRST FLOOR is.. underwater. It's a problem because the water level's already creeping up their stairs. It worries Mom so much because there's a paralyzed patient there and she's too heavy to be carried. I texted some friends and they all have the same problem. This is not good.

I wish they could leave the place, I'd offer them a place to stay-- yeah, my house. I wish they all lived in an area like mine. I wish the drainage system there suddenly got thirsty and drank all the flood. I wish they'd keep safe. Especially that some of them live near the river. I wish there are lots of helicopters to evacuate the people stuck. I wish they'd take out their boats, life jackets, etc. I wish it isn't too dark tonight so that they'd be safe. I wish, for unselfish reasons..

.. that the rain would stop.

God, I am really beginning to think that the end of the world is near. I am also under the impression that Mother Nature is pissed off. What can we do to appease Mother Nature? What can we do to appease You..

Somehow, I doubt that You punish. I absolutely agree with Sookie Stackhouse when she said: God doesn't punish, He forgives..

I know You will keep them safe. I know You will. I know in my heart that You're just there. Please help them..

I bought..

4-1 Bleaching cream and BB Ecorre from Girl Power Store. :) No feedback for this yet but I recommend the shop. Ms. Monique (the seller) is really kind and patient. My transaction with the shop was a breeze. I read good comments and reviews from people who've tried these two products. I got really curious so I ordered the two items. I will use these for some days. And yeah, I shall post my feedback. Mom will use the bleaching cream, I hope she'll like it.

As for eRAse, I bought this months ago and I haven't finished the bottle. I'll say it's effective, peeling and all. It worked on my scar and some marks. I'm going to keep this because it works on me. Sometimes I use it as spot treatment for emerging pimples, it's good.

Honestly I don't have patience for such because I'm not the religious beauty stuff user type. For instance, I bought a moisturizer but I can't get myself to apply it on my face every night. I'm so inconsistent when it comes to using these.. but I do make it a point to wash my face before sleep.. Wouldn't want all that dirt and bacteria sleeping on my face. The horror.

Anyway, I ordered Passion Berries Emu Oil and Cyleina Black Pearl Soap from Ms. Hannah. I can't wait to get them on Saturday. xD

$$$

I'm annoyed.

When will people pay me back? That's thousands of money. Ugh.

Fuck.

It's 10:00 AM now. I should be generating energy to be used in school because I am really really bored. Sugar level dangerously low..

Low enough to push me back to bed and lower my eyelids. *Blink*

Dear Doggie,

How many times do we have to tell you that school things such as books and readings aren't for your sleeping pleasure?

You may have witnessed me fall asleep on my book several times but my dear doggie, it doesn't mean that you have to imitate what human students like me do. Please Chai. Di unan ang libro ni Mark Derren. 0_o Grrrrr I'm gonna bite you. XD

Ugh. I'm going to be your human elevator later because you're such a baby when it comes to going up the stairs. Lazy crybaby dog.

Please ask Mark Derren to brush your hair. Gad. You're starting to look like the living room rug. Puhlease. :|

Signed,
Yer Human Elevator

Elections

Just saw this from a Plurk friend. Ramon Bautista is amusing. xD I didn't register though. I seriously do not know who to vote. Maybe the Makati dude?

LOL

Even vampires use Yahoo! Messenger. ;) LOL

Now Watching: The Vampire Diaries

Almost forgot about this. Good thing Barbie mentioned this. So, True Blood on break. The Vampire Diaries for now. Let's see how it's gonna give justice to the book.. Kidding. True Blood's from a book too, you know. Differences, modifications are inevitable. I like how Eric Northman turned out on tv.. Hihi. Can't wait for some scenes. The season's about to end while The Vampire Diaries is just starting..

I'm a TruBlood O negative drinker through and through. xD
